Pros and cons my dude. I'm from the US South. There are lots of things to love. Most of the stereotypes are vastly exaggerated or just false but some are not. The healthcare system really is the fucking worst if you can't afford it. If you have good insurance it's actually much faster than most places. But it doesn't give a single fuck about poor people, or even lower middle class. The food is delicious but terribly unhealthy. The gun violence issue is so exaggerated it's almost ridiculous. I'm from the most heavily armed county in the USA and there have been like 2 murders in as long as I've been alive. Violence is concentrated in heavily populated cities. I'm jealous of the free healthcare but mostly, the US way of doing things is preferable to me.

Dude, you can do the same, just get a van and live anywhere. Live on wellfare money or hunt animals for food. That is it. Sooner or later, or when you grow up, you will realise that no matter how much you try, you cannot be truly free in this world unless you are born so rich that you don't need to care about money or from what money you get your next meal from.

Funny people talk all this shit about them, but they couldn't care less about what you think. They're enjoying simple life. Working with their hands, creating things, having fun and not concerning themselves with the opinions of others. Meanwhile, you have people struggling to maintain a job and pay for their overpriced degree so they can get a job they don't want making money that won't pay off their loans and working for a boss they hate. Meanwhile that "redneck" (which honestly isn't that derogatory since it just stems from them having sunburnt necks because they work outside all day) is making bank doing trade and blue collar work because you're lazy ass would rather pay someone an insane amount of labor costs instead of doing it your damn self.

When indentured servants were brought to colonial america/Caribbean and forced to cut sugar cane and such, they burned so badly they were called "redlegs". Eventually, this became "rednecks". Many of them wound up living in the Ozark mountains. And that's werw that comes from. Another fun fact? Average length of indenture was 7 years - the average lifespan was 4.
