You know what you give your dad? A mug. Buy some fucking clay, make a mug. Bake it, paint i love dad on it. He will cherish that mug for life. Costs as much as the tie, way more fun to make and give.

What's the point of giving a gift if you have to ask a person what he/she wants? Gifting should come from the giver, it's a sign you care and understand a person enough to buy or make something he/she will appreciate.

What im thinking I might do when im a dad is replying super vaguely and then telling my girlfriend (or likely wife when we have kids) to tell them to get me some specific game. Then Ill act all surprised and happy when I get it. Bonus points if the kids want the game too, given that I likely wont have the same amounts of time I do now all the time.

If hes a read just buy books. My father had birthday right after christmas so you always need 2 things. Well he gets a bunch of books he can read through out the year and will get new ones at the end. Perfect.
